West Cheshire College has announced the appointment of Nigel Davies as the College’s new Principal.

Nigel, who starts his new role this week (1 May), joins the College from Leeds City College where he held the position of Deputy Chief Executive.

Having started his career as a lecturer, Nigel has worked within the further education sector for over 17 years with extensive leadership and management experience.

Christine Russell, Chair of Governors at West Cheshire College, said: “We are delighted that Nigel has accepted the position of Principal and welcome him to the College.

“His wealth of knowledge and experience in the sector will be a valuable asset and will ensure the College continues to build upon its successes and achievements for the future.”

Nigel added: “West Cheshire College has an excellent reputation for delivering vocational education and training. The vision for the College, which I wholly support, is to ensure that individuals achieve, if not exceed, their full potential.

“I have heard and seen so many good things during my previous visits and I am looking forward to meeting students and staff over the coming weeks.”

Nigel Davies succeeds Sara Mogel who retired as Principal in February 2013.
