Meteosat Second Generation (MSG) consists of a series of four geostationary meteorological satellites, along with ground-based infrastructure, that will operate consecutively untill 2018. For further details see the Eumetsat site.

Lower resolution UK & European MSG images are available from the Met Office on an hourly basis plus 6 hourly full globe images of the Americas and Australasia.
