An Affordable Alternative to University

Decided not to go to university this year but still want to study? We can offer you a great alternative with our range of affordable Higher National Certificates and Diplomas.

What is a BTEC HND? Simple, they stand for Higher National Diplomas (HND). We offer a range of courses in such as: Travel and Tourism, Art and Design, Business and Engineering. Our BTEC HND courses can help you to develop the skills and qualifications that you need to take the next step in your chosen career

You will be able to progress from the Level 5 HND and further on to a degree. These qualifications provide meaningful, coherent and specially focused programmes of study for full and part-time learners and have been developed to provide progression routes to study and/or to provide career development opportunities for those already in work.

How do BTEC qualifications work?

There are different sizes of BTEC qualification at each level. Generally:

The smallest is the Award
Then the Certificate
And the largest is the Diploma
Unit results are graded as Pass, Merit or Distinction.

The number of units varies according to the design and focus of each qualification, and all students complete realistic work-based assignments, which are internally assessed.

Assessment decisions and quality assurance procedures in each centre are regularly checked by EdExcel.

How long will it take to complete a BTEC qualification?

A BTEC will generally take one to two years to complete, depending on whether you study for the course full time or part time.
